Evan – 9 Months | Houston Texas Family Photographer

The last time I traveled to Indiana was June 2012 to welcome the newest member of our family. My sister gave birth to her second child, a son named Evan, and he was beautiful – dark hair, chubby cheeks – a real butterball of a baby. I was able to photograph him within his first week of life, capturing that sweet newborn essence we long to hold onto. His smell was amazing and his hair soft as down. I could have snuggled with him for hours.

Fast forward nine months. While the newborn details we “ooohhh’d” and “awww’d” over are barely traceable (tear), he has grown into such a precious little guy with a deep-throated laugh and a smile that would charm the stars.

As a baby shower gift, we received a beautiful hand-felted hat from local fiber artist Barbara Kile. After our son made his arrival, we were so busy and just plain tired, we simply forgot to photograph him with her artistic creation — we were bummed at the missed opportunity.

A few months ago, I received an email from Barbara asking if she could make him a new hat? With the thought of redemption, I eagerly replied “Absolutely”! We received the hat a few weeks later and it was just adorable — the colors were bright and fun while the shape reminded me of Peter Pan. Perfect for a little boy as imaginative and adventurous as our own! We can’t thank you enough for the delightful, one-of-a-kind hat, Barbara.

Our little guy recently turned two and we couldn’t be more proud of all his new accomplishments over the past year! He has shown us a love we have never known before and is an absolute joy to be around – a real charmer. (I think he gets that from his dad!)

Currently, he is obsessed with choo-choo trains so we decided to make that his birthday party theme. And you know what Mama had to do, right? Have a choo-choo train photo shoot to use on his invitations! O.M.G…my cup runneth over!

Mya, Isaiah, Elijah & Micah | Indianapolis Indiana Children Photographer

These four beautiful children belong to two of my sisters. I have been photographing them literally since they took their first breaths and I am amazed to see how much they have changed every time I return to Indiana for a visit. Just last year, I had this and this photo shoot with Mya! Craziness, I tell you.

I consider myself very lucky to have such beautiful & stylish little models (thank you Mom, Erin & Jessi!) and am thrilled that I have the opportunity to document their lives. Looking back at the progression of our shoots together is one of my favorite pastimes and I look forward to making many more.

Towards the end of my stay in Indy, I photographed these two cutie-pies. I wasn’t feeling well throughout the shoot, but pushed through determined to get beautiful shots for their mother. Tayton was so sweet and sincere and at one point during our shoot said, “you poor thing, are you going to be okay?” How sweet is he!?! His Mama has raised him well.

This is my second time photographing this family (minus their middle brother) and each time it has been a pleasure! Thank you, Amy, for letting me get to play & photograph your sweet kids again!

I absolutely love this family and for many reasons! The most important of those being that these two are old high school friends of my husband and I’d like to think they helped mould him into the great individual he is today. (Thank you!) Another reason, with their laid-back demeanor and gorgeous good looks, they made this shoot incredibly easy for me. I loved photographing your family, Drew & Lacey! While visiting Daddy’s art show in the Heights, Elliott and I decided to fit in an impromptu photo shoot since he was looking so snazzy. I think he was feeling it too, because he really did strut. his. stuff. Goodness, how I love him. Every day is a fun adventure!

I remember the first year we lived in Houston, everyone spoke about bluebonnet season. Being that I am not a native Texan, I had no idea how big the tradition of taking portraits in fields of them is. It wasn’t until I had my very own child, that I would partake in this tradition and, let me just say, I get it – they’re beautiful & add a splash of color that is fun and magical. I’m absolutely in love with these, but who knows, could just be the cute little gentleman that steals my heart every time.
